MIXING TIPS Please see the following table for specific mixing and feeding instructions for each animal. Using a standard measuring cup, mix the required amount of Electrolytes Plus powder into warm water and mix thoroughly until completely dissolved. A standard measuring cup holds approximately 6 ounces (170 grams) dry powder by weight, equal in volume to a standard 8 ounce cup. For best results, do not mix Electrolytes Plus powder into milk or milk replacer. Feed the mixed Electrolytes Plus solution separately, in between normal milk feedings, to provide supplemental fluids and electrolytes. Continue feeding Electrolytes Plus solution for 2 to 3 days, depending on scours severity and degree of dehydration, or as directed by your veterinarian. NOTE - Dehydration in baby animals can be very serious. If scours worsen or do not improve, animals may require intravenous fluid therapy, contact your veterinarian immediately. MIXING INSTRUCTIONS: Fill enclosed cup to the bottom of the rim with 6 ounces (170 grams) of Sav-A-Caf® Electrolytes Plus™ powder. Mix into 2 quarts (1.89 liters) of warm water. Stir to dissolve completely. Make fresh solutions daily-do not store. FEEDING INSTRUCTIONS: Feed mixed Sav-A-Caf® Electrolytes Plus™ from an open pail, nipple pail, or nursing bottle, shake well before feeding. Feed at least two hours after normal milk replacer feeding. For best results, do not mix with milk or milk replacer. It is recommended that you continue twice daily calf milk replacer feedings as normal to help restore fluid balance and maintain body condition. For calves with mild to moderate scours, dehydration and/or stress, feed 2 quarts (1.89 liters) of mixed Sav-A-Caf® Electrolytes Plus™ 1-3 times daily, spacing feedings evenly between normal milk replacer feedings. Continue for 2-3 days or until scours have stopped and hydration is normal. CAUTION: Calves that are severely dehydrated may require intravenous fluid therapy. Do not attempt to feed oral electrolytes to a calf that cannot sit up unassisted. Call your veterinarian immediately. Not for human consumption. IMPORTANT: Individual animals vary in requirements. Adjust amounts according to the animal’s body size and need for supplemental electrolytes. When in question about animal nutrition requirements, please consult with your veterinarian. STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE Store dry powder in a tightly closed container in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving the package open for extended periods of time. Best if used within 24 months of manufacture.
